Nailer ConsultingAbout us

Legal Services

Our legal services are provided by our Kevin Roberts, a non-practising solicitor with many years' experience of construction law and practice.

From 1996 to 2004, he was a solicitor in private practice and during that time he specialised in all aspects of contentious and non-contentious construction law. Before establishing Nailer Consulting in 2009, he was employed as Head of Legal Services for a national construction contract consultancy.

Although he remains on the Roll of Solicitors in England & Wales, as a non-practising solicitor he does not provide legal advice in his capacity as a solicitor. However, with the exception of conducting court proceedings (an activity reserved to practising solicitors), he provides exactly the same legal services as he did when he practised as a solicitor.

He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Member of the Society of Construction Law and a Member of the Adjudication Society.

Any written legal advice which he (or our commercial/claims consultant - referred to below) gives may not be privileged from disclosure in adjudication, arbitration or court proceedings on the basis of legal advice privilege.

Commercial/Claims Services

Our commercial/claims services are provided by a highly capable consultant with over 20 years' experience of working in the construction industry for a large blue chip main contractor in which his role was to trouble-shoot distressed projects and provide quantum advice, forensic cause and effect analysis and dispute avoidance and resolution advice.

He also continues to provide support to those responsible for project delivery including commercial management, quantity surveying and contractual advice in live environments.

When combined with the legal expertise of our Kevin Roberts, we really do offer a "one-stop shop" legal and commercial/claims service.
